Coloured Vans are hard to come by

Everyone is aware of the reputation that a white van man carries, but how about a red van man? Well, because of the credit crunch, there is a European wide shortage of red vans which could lead to the death of the red van man.

The shortage of red vans is due to the credit crunch. Because of the credit crunch, money is tight and the sales of vans in on the decrease, this means that the amount of coloured vans in production is being reduced. More classical colours like white are being produced instead, so it seems that many companies that rely on red vans like Eagle Couriers, a Scottish delivery firm, might have to change their van colours to something more traditional.

It seems to be an odd situation to be in, manufacturers are sending less coloured vans into production, but the coloured ones are the ones that are in demand.

If some companies end up choosing to change the colour of their fleet, it may end up being a good decision because they may decide on a safer colour. Although this sounds strange, there have been studies that show that white cars are in the least amount of accidents and are therefore the safest colour cars. There have been a number of studies to find out which colour is the safest colour, one being a study that showed that white cars were the safest during a lightning storm. Another study showed that a white fire engine was less likely yo be involved in an accident than a red one.

Maybe we should start claiming a car insurance reduction for having a white car because it’s less likely to be in an accident.

If you are a company that requires colour specific vans, maybe can leasing should be on the table? There are a huge number of different vans available for lease all in different colours, from minibus leasing to tipper van leasing, there are vans for every purpose and every requirement.
